I have this same recurring problem. Sometimes it spreads to between my eyebrows. Having gone to dermatologists and tried multiple remedies to no avail. I have finally concluded it is a yeast problem. I intend to try the T-gel plan, and Lotrimin helps, but eliminating anything with yeast and sugars is the solution.
