I had the mirena put in Jan 2012 and not even a month afterwards I was cooking dinner and had the craziest feeling come over me...it was like going over a hill to fast and it taking your breath, my face got hot, my hat was racing and it scared me to death. So much so that I took myself to the er they done ekg and blood work nothing told me to follow up with my dr so I did. I told them I thought it was my iud they insisted there was no connection and stayed me on a beta blocker for my heart. I will have our 3 years in Jan and I know it sounds crazy but every month when I should have my period the same thing happens and it has to be do to an overload of hormones and this iud I've had enough I'm having it taken out amd I hope this stops
