Hi you all on this forum. It has been interesting reading your storyes. They are many quite similar to my own. I am 28 yers old in great physical shape. I had an iud inserted 3 yers ago called mirena. I was against hormones to begin with but the doctor ensured me that the hormones in mirena had only a locallised effect. So I went on with my life.. didn´t really pay attention to any side effects since I hadn´t done any reaserch on it. Now a few months ago i started getting irregular heartbeat and pain just on and off during the day. It was often worst when i lay down to sleep. It wast so sewere that i went to see a doctor about it and got a "carry around monitor" on my. The tests didn´t show anything abnormal thoug. i was glad, but the pain and pounding heartbeat stayed. Just a few weeks ago i started getting this god awful smell from below. I hawent had my period since i got mirena so i didnt know what was causing this smell. I just couldn´t take the smell for more than 3 weeks and i got the IUD removed. The smell is still there but i´m waiting for my period to wash it out. What is interesting is that since removal my head feels so light. I had been accostumed to the constant headaches, and now that theyre gone i feel the hell i was in. Espessially during exercise i would feal this pounding inside my head. I was out running just now and the difference is such that i had to look this up on google. Now my heart is beating like its old self. Excuse me but WTF is going on. Are we living one of medical historys failiours like Bendectin causing birth defects ore mirapront in the 60's and many more. This just isn't right since so many people are linking heart problems to mirena there should be a mention off it in the side effects catagory.
