I suppose everybody is different. I've had my Mirena IUD for over 2 years and just recently I started getting long periods. For the first year I had it the periods were very minimal which was great but since I got it put in on January 2014 I noticed my sex drive is almost non-existent. At first I thought it was because we had just had a baby (2 months before I had it put in). After reading these comments I realize it's the IUD! So not only has the IUD murdered my sex life (I'm married to the Father of my 2 year old btw), it has recently been making me have annoyingly long periods. I'm talking about bleeding and some spotting here and there for over a month now. With low sex drive and a forever period our sex life doesn't have a chance! Getting it removed ASAP, I'd rather go back on the pill but at this point even condoms are better.
