Thanks for your question. The spotting could be from inconsistently taking the pill. Three days is too early to know if you have gotten pregnant. You may want to contact your prescribing doctor to explain this to them and see what they think you should do. Anytime you forget your pills, and don't use a backup method like a condom, spermicide, or even the withdrawal method (only about 70% effective, but it's better than nothing), you put yourself at unnecessary risk for getting pregnant. You need to get back on track with your pills, or ask your health care provider if a different method would be better for you to take since it's only most effective if you take it on time and regularly.
