It does sound like a difficult situation. That amount of stress can have a real impact on whether your girlfriend's period is late.
From the way you describe it, I would think that she is safe from pregnancy. When used correctly, condoms have a high percentage of success. The fact that you did not ejaculate inside her would give you an even smaller chance of pregnancy.
To become pregnant, some sperm MUST enter the vagina to travel up into the woman's uterus and fallopian tubes. I don't see how this could have happened with the circumstances you describe.
Sometimes, for no real reason, we can have a period that's a week or 10 days late. It may be a change in our lives, due to stress, medication, diet or activity. It certainly sounds as though your girlfriend is dealing with her share of things.
Please tell your girlfriend to relax a bit, and breathe. You two were responsible when you were intimate and I am guessing that she's just late. If she can focus on normal activities and not worry so much, I would guess her period will come in the next week.
In the meantime, does she need help with the stress and family issues? I know you are giving her support, but does she have other friends or family (or a teacher or counselor) who are available to her during this time?
