Hi Joaniespappyawns, yes a medrol dose pack is a form of prednisone, little different but same idea and when I said "MA" I just meant "medical asst" that works in my docs office. Well to update everyone, when I took the first round of the prednisone my arm felt so good, so fast, that should of been my red flag!.....after the doses of medicine were tapered down the symptoms started coming back!....so once again I called my doc's office went out and she spent alot of time with me and again, would not say that it was from the injection being given incorrectly, she even went as far as getting a anatomy book out to show me where the muscles are up there and I told her I already understand that and my arm was totally fine until he injected it incorrectly. My doc knows that I'm a nurse and I told her I have never given a IM injection so high up on the shoulder....she wasn't and isn't being much help and now I am on my "second" round of medicine which again in 2 days has made my arm feel much better but I know as tomorrow is the last dose, I just know the symptoms are going to come back and I don't know what then. A person can't keep taking those different forms of prednisone, week after week, its not good for you in so many ways. I forgot to mention that after the first round of meds that numbness/tingling/burning returned also. My doctor near the end of our visit said another option was for her to send me to a orthopedic surgeon!I looked at her and asked what the heck for, this all started because of when I got the injection, nothing more...so taking it day at a time and trying to find new doc inbetween...take care ladies.....
