I received my flu shot on 09/16/14, it hurt worse than normal, but I ignored it and the pain slowly went away. A few days later the pain came back. It was unbearable! I was unable to sleep, daily activities had me in tears, I was miserable. Finally on 09/29/14 I saw the doctor, he prescribed prednisone and hydrocodone and ordered an x-ray to make sure there was no damage to the bone or broken needle, those came back normal. After 2 days on prednisone, I was feeling normal. I finished my 6 day course of prednisone on 10/04/14 and by 10/07/14 the pain was back. I finally went back to the doctor on 10/14/14 and was told I had possible nerve damage and it could take quite a while to heal and this time was given Lidoderm patches and ibuprofen. The pain is slightly better but certain movement aggravates it and there is almost always a slight burning sensation. I get my flu shot every year and this is the first time I've ever had a problem! In hindsight, I should have just gotten the mist!
