Those are truly interesting. I've only had the common cold, but it's amazing to me that all these eons later, we still don't know exactly how it works.

It is hard to believe it has been 25 years since the AIDS virus was discovered in humans. I was working at a newspaper then and still remember the first news stories that came across the wires talking about this new syndrome that was attacking certain populations and baffling scientists in the meantime. It shows just how quickly something new can shake society by the scruff of the neck. Most of the other diseases and syndromes we are dealing with today are much much older than HIV.

Interesting about the cigars, Susan. I wonder what substance is in cigars that your body was craving? The story said a deficiency of certain minerals could be at play there. I have heard of pica patients wanting to eat dirt, but not cigars. You are creative!
