Probably everyone who has ever started to take exercise struggled with the idea of quitting it.
At first we think up excuses that we feel bad or tired, then we go for a walk instead of exercises or just decide to pamper ourselves and stay at home.
For some people, this kind of “rest” is really temporary, but somebody quits fitness eventually.
How to develop a habit of constant active lifestyle? All that you need – to get pleasure from training!
Why is your desire lost?
One of the frequent reasons to lose the desire is the lack of an ultimate goal or too many goals.
For example, you want to change your weight. You arm yourself with a long list of new intentions: to enroll in a gym, to do yoga in the morning, to eat healthy food, to go to bed early, to get rid of bad habits.
Such multitasking actually only slows you down. Solve at first one task - for example, start going to gym, then after a while, if you feel that you have enough energy, do yoga in the morning, and so on.
The desire to train also disappears if you are overtired. Perhaps you are too active in your training, and the body is on the edge of its capabilities. Therefore, regularly exercising, do not forget to rest.
Another reason why some people drop out, is that your sports activities are boring and monotonous.
The lack of results also can reduce your desire to train. Many people initially start training with enthusiasm, but after a while they quit it because they do not see the result.
The rules of habit formation
It is easy to develop a habit of doing fitness. The main thing is to follow several basic rules.
The Rule number 1. Choose your favorite sport
The choice of sports activities is very wide, and you should find the most suitable one for you. Naturally, at first you will have to try different kinds of sports to determine what you like most, but as a result, your training hours will bring pleasure. Traditional exercises with training apparatus fit not everyone: creative people often feel that they are too monotonous. What kind of sport can help you to realize your interests? If you are a woman - you will probably like dancing. And your husband, like all men, with their eternal passion for war and arms, can be interested in swordplay or sports shooting. If there are no fencing halls or shooting galleries in your area - it does not matter.
The Rule number 2. Set a specific goal and time frame
Understanding why you are training is a motivating factor. Also clearly define the time interval that you need to reach the goal.
For example, decide that you plan to lose 5 kg during 1 month. If you know why you are going to the gym, or running in the morning, you increase the desire to train.
The Rule number 3. Diversify workouts
Boredom is one of the reasons for refusing to train. Facing the sports routine, we, most often, are unarmed. It is important to change exercises and workload constantly.
You can train certain muscles in dozens of different ways, thereby increasing the effectiveness of training. If you don’t know how to diversify these activities, ask for qualified help from specialists. The trainer will certainly recommend how to improve the effectiveness of training and at the same time diversify them.
The Rule number 4. Fix the result of training
After each workout, record how your result has changed. The scales show 64.5 instead of 64.8? Your waist has become smaller, and you look more miniature? Seeing it, you will have a motivation to train even more actively.
The Rule number 5. Communicate with like-minded people
Discuss your achievements with other people who do the same. Live communication raises the mood and motivates.
I wish you never get rid of the healthy lifestyle habit!
