I started 2010 at 291 pounds and I swore to take it off. But, as the year went by, I kept slacking off and slacking off and then it was, "I'll start again on Monday", etc, etc. 2011 rolled around and again I'm going to diet, I'm going to lose 100 pounds this year. That's 2 pounds per week I can do this. I started off with a bang, then the 2 pounds went down to 1 pound for a few weeks and then didn't lose any weight and I got so frustrated.
Now fast forward to 2012, and I did not make a resolution to diet. This time I resolved to have a lifestyle change. Instead of beating myself up for not losing 100 pounds last year, I celebrated the 40 I did lose and started to build on that.
I heard about the BodyMedia Fit and went out and bought one. This is one amazing gizmo that has shed a ton of light on what I was doing right and wrong with my diet and exercise.
I do a gym workout twice a week, karate twice a week, and then a personal workout at home the other 3 days. I have some type of workout every day of the week. I also have karate on Sundays for my black belt review classes.
To date, I've lost 13.1 pounds this year. I have set smaller goals such as 25 pounds by April. So instead of a large goal, I'm breaking them down. I know I can do this.
In case you haven't already heard the news on my Facebook page or Twitter, today I'm taking part in an exclusive challenge by the EmpowHER network. It's called the EmpowHER BodyMedia FITness ...
