Act Quickly

Note the time when the first symptoms appear. Immediately call 9-1-1 for ambulance service with advanced life support. According to the American Heart Association, “If given within 3 hours of the start of symptoms, a clot-busting drug called tissue plasminogen activator or tPA may reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke.”
