Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we never had to worry about sicknesses or disease in our lives? Think about it. You would never have pain or feel bad. That would be great for most people, but it would pose a bit of a problem for all doctors and the companies who create the medicine to help us heal. With all the research being conducted at medical laboratories and pharmaceutical companies all over the world, perhaps this could happen in our lifetime, then again maybe not. In the interim however, we as citizens have to do our part to make sure we are careful and more in control of our current health situation. This includes focusing on prevention as much as possible.

Now of course there are sicknesses which occur that are truly beyond our control. There are hereditary and environmental factors to consider where some health problems are related. However, there are some conditions that can be avoided if we take the right steps. One of those conditions affecting many is STDS or sexually transmitted diseases.

As with many things, prevention begins with the right communication and information. Before engaging in sex with a new partner couples have to talk to each other about sexual health and their past. Even just as important, parents have to talk to their children about sex as they become young adults. There really is no such thing as too much information where this issue is concerned.

Sexually transmitted diseases are still on the rise and they are still more prominent in women, however they can affect many. Here is an article entitled Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) in Women. Although there is still research being done on the issue, there are ways to prevent an STD from happening in the first place. Although many are curable, there are some that are not. Making smart choices by using condoms and even abstinence can help this become a society with fewer and fewer STDS. Would that be great?
