According to a study by Dr. Kristina Durante and colleagues at the University of Texas women with high levels of estrogen tend to have more sex and more partners.

Durante's team stated that "Women with higher estradiol reported a greater likelihood of flirting, kissing, and having a serious affair with someone other than their primary partner and were marginally more likely to date another man."

These same women thought of themselves as very attractive, and others also thought they were beautiful. So these very good looking, highly fertile women are more likely to seek out other partners.

This study, which I came across at Yahoo News was definitely more interesting to read than their normal fare. But I have to wonder about its importance and validity, and if it doesn't fall into the realm of myths about the beautiful young woman with sex on the brain and predatory notions.

I say young because the research involved women between the ages of 17 to 30. Can't you picture some good looking young woman who has just cheated on her boyfriend telling him "Honey I just have too much estrogen. Can't really help it."

These studies are certainly eye catching and maybe that's why they're on Yahoo. You do have to wonder if they're really worthwhile in the scheme of things. Next time, could we see some research from this team at the University of Texas about say, women's mental capacity?
