I just had "Her Option" cryo ablation of my endometrial lining four days ago for heavy bleeding, cramps, anemia with my periods. I'd like to know if there are any other ladies out there who have had this procedure and their experience. Didi it work for you? Did it help with PMS too?

I had it partially done on the 9th, my Dr. couldnt see well enough to get the whole procedure done so I will have to go back and have a different one done wich requires me to be put to sleep. I immediately started bleeding and lost a chunk the size of my palm when he pulled the instruments out. I bled heavy that day and spotted the next and am now bleeding through super tampons and the huge pads about every 2 hours. I am having horrible random cramps and am trying to patiently wait until my surgery is scheduled. I was assured cramping and bleeding were normal. I would rather have opted now in hindsight for the partial hysterectomy.

I am thinking of having this procedure. In the process of researching. It is for Cryoablation. Unfortunatly I am finding difficulties locating anyone that has had this procedure done. I am ready about the one where they burn but not the freezing. My doctor told me this was my only option. I tend to bleed 8-10 days and spot for another 5-7 days. It seems the longer I wait the less "free" days I have. Any help would be appreciated.

I was going to have the thermal ablation (heat) until my Dr told me he has seen more long term problems from the heat vs cryo (feezing). My doctor told me that he has seen a lot of women scarring from the thermal ablation and that cause pain as well. So he said he was going to stop doing the thermal and only do the cryoablations. I haven't had it done yet, I am waiting on insurance auth. A friend of mine had the thermal and she said the pain afterwards for 4-6 hours that was severe and she has had a tummy tuck and said the pain was worse than that. I find that hard to believe, but she is not a baby when it comes to pain. More reason for me to do the cryo instead of thermal.

I had the cryo done on the September 23rd and the pain after was severe. I was not expecting it to be so bad. It's like it thaws out and you feel everything they did. I would do it again but be prepared for pain. I've had three children and naturally and even I couldn't get control of this pain.

Check out this website www.heroption.com for info on the cryo ablation . I don't know if your doc only does the burning procedure or that for medical reasons (S)he thinks that burning one would be best for you medically. I would find out for sure because the cryo from what I have read, i am not a doc or nurse etc, has better results. Good luck researching I hope you find what works for you.

I go for my two week post op appointment tomorrow. I feel just fine and start my period this week. I am hoping it will be lighter even though I have been told not to expect results until my 2nd or 3rd cycle.

I would love to see a total loss of period but that has not been promised. At this point, anything would be an improvement.

What type of bleeding ocurrs immediately following? The doctor did say that there would be watery discharge for up to six weeks. I'm not liking that because...no sex for six weeks does not compute with me...SORRY.

Anyone experience the six week nightmare?

I had the cryoablation done on July 2. I felt really good the next day but on July 6th I think I started my period and I am flowing really bad. I hope this stops soon and never starts again. Not being able to use tampons makes it very hard as the flow seems to go right up my back,,I have to double my pads. I have been having alot of cramping and at times it feels like the blood is just pouring out of me. I keep looking for some of the lining to come out hoping that will put a stop to things.

I writing to get an update on how your procedure went. I'm thinking about having this done soon and would like to get some feedback from someone who already went through it. Was there any pain involved? What is your mentrual period like today?

Sincerely,

DL

I had cryoablation done 3 1/2 months ago. The first period will be worst than any you've ever had. My second period was a little lighter and this current one seems to have improved a little more. I still have cramping and take 3 aleve when I feel the cramps coming.
It takes six months to see the full results. Six months can't come soon enough!! I'll keep you posted
