Subacute cuteanous lupus now systemic.

I've recently been diagnosised with systemic lupus. My doc wants me to undergo the cancer drug treatments. I really do not know much about this. Can you all give me a bit of info on it? I really do not want to do this. With my condition, it is mostly skin lesions, hair loss and fatigue. It is disabling and I am thinking of quitting work due to the sores on my hands and feet. How effective is this treatment? Please help. I'm really at a loss as to what to do. Thanks.

Hello. I received the same diagnosis too, only they use to call it tumid lupus it seems. It has been just over a year since my first flare. Although the rash never really went away, it has returned in my chest over a wider area. My rheumatologist increased my methotrexate by one pill for the next 5 weeks. It will take a few weeks for me to see the effect if it works. The Dermatoloist gave me creams I used, to no avail. What type of cancer drugs are you referring to?
