When diagnosed with cancer, many patients will automatically assume that they will need this treatment.
Since many chemotherapy patients will often experience grueling side effects, I am wondering, does each patient needs to go through this?

It used to be that if a patient had, even one lymph node positive, they automatically got chemotherapy, but fortunately we’ve moved away from “one-size-fits-all” into an era of personalized breast cancer care.
It is important to talk with your doctor about a test called Oncotype DX to determine what the odds were for cancer coming back over the next 10 years, as well as whether you would benefit from chemotherapy or not.
It is really important that physicians have the best information available in order to make the right decision.
