Hello, Anon! Thank you for writing.

Platelets form a crucial part of the composition of blood. They are responsible for repairing tissue damage and play a vital role in the blood-clotting system.  A low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) is a blood disorder that has many possible causes.   Either an underlying medical condition is causing the reduced level, such as a viral infection or certain types of anemia, or an individual is taking a certain medication or substance that is reducing the platelet count. Your low blood pressure may or may not be related. It will depend on the cause of your low blood platelet count. For some people, low bp is normal for them. For others, it's a cause for concern. Your doctor will determine this.
