Two missed periods, negative pregnancy test, but pregnant like symptoms.

Hi,
I am only twenty one but I am thinking maybe I have an hormone imbalance? My periods are very regular and I have not had my period now for a few months. I have taken numerous pregnancy tests and all have come out negative. I do have pregnant like symptoms though such as weight gain, fatigue and headaches. I also have been extremely bloated recently and have been spotting. I was thinking maybe some of these are a sign of hormone imbalance...I generally eat pretty well and I try to get out and excersize regularly. I have had some mood swings and just over all feel like I am pms sing the whole past month and I have had an increase in my appetite ( I ussually eat small portions and find my self hungry way more often now though). Also I was very happy for about a month and recently am just neutral but that might have something to do with the fatigue I am experiencing now. Any ideas what could be wrong with me? I am sick of feeling like my period is going to happen every day and never having it actually happen!

Thank You in Advance.

Glad your situation seems to have resolved itself. Are you still going to go to the doctor?
Thanks for coming back and updating us.

Thanks (Pollybell here) I didn't go to the doctor, and the second period after it finally came was a week early, so it's all going back to normal and re-adjusting I think!

Thanks so much for the prompt reply and reassurance! I am seeing my GP on Monday and hopefully that will shed some light on it. And yes I am waiting for my period with bated breath, a sure-fire way to delay it! I take it things went back to normal for you in the end.

Hi I have exactly what so many of you have, my period is 13 days late, and I have taken 4 pregnancy tests and they are negative. This has never happened to me before and I am at my wit's end. I am under a lot of pressure at the moment (trying to organise my wedding and other pressures) and I have stopped smoking for almost three weeks now-could that have something to do with it? But I am getting symptoms that frighten me-severe mood swings-rage/despair/uncontrollable crying, sore breasts, back twinges, break outs, dizziness, weight gain, bloatedness...I feel like I am going mad and I just want to know for sure what happening to me!! I would really appreciate any contribution, especially to hear the outcomes of those of you who have the same problem.,

Hi Pollybell,
You may want to give your doctor's office a call to see what they suggest. Your period can be affected by stress, sickness, over-exercising, dieting, and other things, so you could be skipping. But for your own mental wellness, a call to your doctor's office may be the ticket to help ease your mind.
Good luck! Let us know what you find out and how you are doing.

if all tests negative- which are 99%, I'd say youre not pregnant. as you say you've been under a lot of stress so its probably that. I missed period for 3 months, did multiple tests-all negative and had a pelvic scan. they couldn't find problem so I think id gotten mysel so worked up and even more stressed and therefore made it worse. my advice would be to try and forget about it, chill out and it willl come. however to be sure see your GP who can tell you for definite!

If you have taken the home pregnancy tests after your expected period did not begin, the results are about 99% accurate when used correctly.

Your symptoms can be related to many things: upcoming period, pregnancy, cold/flu or other medical condition.

Please keep us updated after your doctor's visit!

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for updating us on your status. It is very common to miss periods due to stress or sometimes for absolutely no reason at all. When it prolonges for several months, it is always a great idea to go to your physician to be sure there is nothing wrong. Thanks again and glad to hear there were no issues.
