Really weird periods

I am 17, and have been getting my period for 3 years. I get my period every three months for 12 to 14 days, but I can always predict when they will start quite accurately (give or take a day). They are always very heavy and extremely painful, to the extent that I can barely stand up. Any advice?

Anon - Having periods that are extremely painful, to the extent that you can barely stand up, isn't normal or acceptable. Please make an appointment to see a gynecologist as soon as possible so that your condition can be treated and you can get relief from the pain and discomfort. Will you let us know what your doctor says?
