Q:

My dad had a peg tube placed about a month ago. Within 10 minutes after feedings he gets a sharp "electrical" type of pain that radiates across his left shoulder. What could be causing this?

The pain only lasts for about 15 minutes and then resolves. It has become such an issue for my dad he dreads his feedings.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

I do not know but urge you to speak with his physician. If could have something to do with placement or not But he should not be suffering and needs the feedings.

Regards,
Maryann
