Some women will have mid cycle spotting, lasting 1-2 d, very light, which occurs with ovulation. If this is predictable and consistent, it is not particularly worrisome. But if intermenstrual bleeding is not predictable when it occurs, is lasting longer than 1-2 d, occurs after intercourse, then you must be seen by your provider to do a thorough evaluation.

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Normal, healthy vaginal discharge varies in amount, consistency, color and odor, depending on many factors. Hormones, for example, can influence several characteristics of cervical and vaginal mucus. An imbalance of vaginal flora can cause abnormal changes in vaginal discharge, such as a yeast infection.  If you feel concerned about any new changes, it might be best to see your OBGYN.

Best,

Daisy
