I have been experiencing some abnormal spotting and three days before my period, I had some dark brown discharge for three days. My period came at least two weeks early. Ever since my period Ended, I have been cramping and sore in my pelvis. So I went to the doctor and they told me that I did not have pelvic inflammatory disease, I have no infections, and I have no diseases. Now my breasts tender. I’m wondering if my cycle is just extremely thrown off and I am PMS Ing but then That does not explain why I have been having cramping and sharp pains for so long. I also have had essure for 4 years. Sorry my words are kind of thrown together but I have been trying to figure out what is wrong all month. As you get older, do you have a chance for your cycle to be thrown out of wack?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing!

As we age, our cycles change. This is the time of peri-menopause which precedes menopause and can happy as early as the mid-late 30s.
If you think you could be pregnant, a test would be accurate by now.
Best,
Susan
