My bf and I had unprotected sex right atfer I just ended my period I took plan B pills and the next day I got my period again even though I just had it 3 days earlier. But now I still haven't gotten my period. Is it possible that I'm just late?

Can anyone please help me? I'm thinking I'm just going to get my period really late. Or is it possible that I am pregnant? Answers asap please.

So I had my period December 21-25, 2014 and had sex december 27,2014 around 8 pmish not even 5 minutes long, with a condom ( but found out it expired so that's why I'm worried), no pre-ejaculation (didnt have anything wet in condom),no ejaculation (100% positive), and took plan b at 10:46pm on December 27 (put it in notes when I took the pill), and now January 2,2015 I expierenced some adominal pain then realized blood its not a lot but more than spotting but I'm still worried cause my first time taking the pillplease reply to my comment thank you :)

Hello Anonymous,

You can relax. The spotting means the emergency contraceptive worked and you are not pregnant. There was no need to take the pill because even if the condom was expired because you had just finished your period and would not have been ovulating.

Had sex on Dec 25 and the condom broke, I took plan b the next day. I started having bloody discharge on Jan 2. is this normal? Is this supposed to be my normal period?? (I had my period about a week before my little incident)

Hello Anonymous,

The bloody discharge means Plan B was effective. Your next period should start close to when normally expected. Some women start their next period earlier or later than normal as a side effect of the pill. But, this should not be by more than five days.

I had unprotected sex with my husband, 3 days later I took the generic version of plan b (next choice) & 6 days later I got my period which was weird because it came 10 days early. Since then I havent got my period, im 26 days late but all home pregnancy tests were negative. Any explanations?

Hello Anonymous,

The vaginal bleeding which occurred six days later was the result of taking the emergency contraceptive. Likewise, one side effect of the pill is changes in the menstrual cycle. It can cause the next period to start earlier or later than normal.

Contact your gynecologist because 26 days late is out of the ordinary.

Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

You are not pregnant because you had vaginal bleeding. There was no need to take an emergency contraceptive since your monthly period was due to start the next day.

By taking the pill, you did upset the normal balance of hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle. This can cause your next period to start earlier or later than expected.

Maryann

Hi Maryann,
I've read several of your responses to others and found them very informative so first off, thank you.
I did want to reach out with a question of my own- I see that you've said a number of times that emergency contraceptive is not necessary while on your period (day 3 of my cycle- April 9th early a.m.) I panicked after a mistake and took plan b one step anyway (never taken before), within 24 hours.
For about a day after I felt like my period had stopped which made me unsure, but the next day and currently I have light pink/brownish spotting, noticeably during urination. Did I put myself at risk by taking the Plan B while technically ON my period? Thanks in advance!

I had unprotected sex on Dec. 8th. I took the Take Action pill the next day, Dec. 9th. Is it possible to get your period 8 days after you take the pill? I started getting cramps yesterday, Dec. 15 and today I started bleeding. It's lighter than what I usually get when I'm on my period. Is this normal? Will I still get my period on it's normal start date? How long should I wait to take a pregnancy test just to be sure?
