Vitamins and supplements are taken indefinitely for general health and to help facilitate the prevention of disease.

If you are taking vitamins and supplements to address a specific condition, daily use is typical until your condition improves. How long that takes is hard to say but it is recommended that you give a new nutritional supplement at least four months to make an impact.

It's important to keep in mind that vitamins and nutritional supplements react differently than prescription drugs. The process is much slower and your body needs time to absorb and react to the nutrients.
