Can we get pregnant even if we have our period? (thats IF we think its our period)
Just want to know the difference or how would i know if its spotting not a period?? does it always come in the same time as the expected date of period? what would spotting look like?
Because i know women mistakenly think that once they bleed, its menstrual period already. thank you!

Hi my name is Dai and I have some concerns as I have been spotting for two weeks from brown, darkred almost black to bright pink, I had two small clots pass smaller than a dime. I even tried to douch up there to help wash things out and got nothing. I had sex on the 20th of sep, and the spotting started on the 25th. I've had some horrible head aches in the last week and its a good thing they weren't everyday along with mild boob pain, such as a dull constant poking. I took a hpt a week ago still spotting and it came up neg. Any advise would be helpful

Hi my name is katie
i had protected sex with my boyfried around two weeks ago and i started my "period" four or five days ago. I tend to be quiet paranoid about getting pregnant because im only 17 but my period has been a dark brown colour but not lighter than my usual period. I just wanted some advice on whiether something was wrong. I have a 30 day cycle and i was due on the 4th today is the nineth. It has remained brown over these days i could really use some advice
thanks in advance

Hello katie,

I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us to help answer your question. I will do my best to try to reassure you and alleviate your concerns.

Since you are using some type of birth control and are having your period, there is no chance that you are pregnant.

Occasionally, a woman may have brown vaginal bleeding. The lining of the uterus is shed and expelled each month during menstruation. Sometimes, a small amount of the uterine contents are retained. In such a situation, you will notice dark brown vaginal bleeding. It can happen at the end of the current period, or at the start of the next period.

Regards,

Maryann

Hi,

I understand that you do not have a primary care physician because you recently moved. I am concerned about your symptoms of serious cramping, light headedness and persistent spotting.

You might be anemic or you might have an ectopic pregnancy. I strongly suggest that you go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. A physical examination, blood tests and possible ultrasound can determine what is the cause of your symptoms.

Until you are examined, we can only guess at the cause.

Hi my names Sam and I take birth control pills, but I had to take antibiotics for two weeks, I didn't know at the time that the anti biotics could cancle out my BC, and this month I was four days late, then started a light bleeding today, a brownish color, but I've also been throwing up.... Could I be spotting, or is my stress maybe causeing my sickness?
