Can i get pregnant without deep penetration?

Hi, I'm 23 years old lady and I'm still a virgin. I have a bf and we've been together for more than 4 years. We never had 'real' penetration or sexual intercourse (saving it for the marriage). But today we made out and he only put his tip into me (only like half an inch to an inch) but did not cum in me. I am just a little concerned and went online to search for answers, and some people even mentioned that with what i've done, i'm actually not a virgin anymore! but no pain no blood flow happened.

Anyway, my question is, will i get pregnant this way? isit really true that if sperm was only near the vagina, i will get pregnant?

only supportive and real answers please.. i know i shud've used contraception, but it was our first time, and we didn't really planned for it to happen.

thanks..

ME and my boyfriend has sex yesterday and he may of had pre-cum on his penis but he had pulled out before ejaculating inside of me and he ejaculated in my hand when i was giving him a hand job also on top of my vagina to the right corner some was on there. Should I get a morning after pill or will i be okay. Also, I should be getting my period soon, Usually i get it anywhere from the end of the month to the beginning of the new month. Am I ok or am i at risk?

Any time you have unprotected sex you risk pregnancy, and withdrawal is not a reliable method of birth control because pre-seminal fluid can have sperm in it. So yes, you are at risk of pregnancy.

You risk is likely low, but not zero. This is a good time for you to think about what kind of birth control you want to use from now on. That way you will not be in this position again. Good luck to you.

Hi Johnny,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER.
Anytime you have unprotected sex, you are at risk for getting her pregnant or transmitting/contracting STDs. The surest way to know if she's pregnant is a missed period and pregnancy test. Generally speaking, a pregnancy test can be taken once she misses her period, so you may need to wait a while, and just try to reassure her that everything will be OK. Some suggest waiting a week after the missed period to take the test. If she misses her period, she also can make an appointment with a doctor to receive a blood test to verify a pregnancy. Doctors also can test for STDs if you need that too.
If you plan to be sexually active now, or have further experimentation, it's a good idea for you and your partner to pick up some condoms and maybe some spermicide to help protect against pregnancy, and relieve that stress-factor in the future. Your girlfriend may want to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist if she hasn't been to one yet. While there, they can discuss sexual health and birth control. In the future, a lubricant can help with the "ouch" issue you mentioned with your girlfriend.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing, or if you have more questions.

If you both had clothes on, it went in through your clothes and he didn't ejaculate, there's little chance for you to get pregnant. If there was skin-to-skin (actual penis to vagina contact without clothes) contact, there's a risk.

Hello Christine and knowledgeable commenters on this subject,
As seen from your previous comments you seem very knowledgeable in this area of subject. I have a few question to ask you, I think I know the answers but I would like to be sure please.
I had just ended my menstrual cycle and my boyfriend came over the next day. We started to become quite sexually excited and I began to release lots of vaginal fluid. Naturally I understand my body was preparing for sexual intercourse. I removed my underwear and he began to touch my vagina with his hand, which produced A LOT more of my vaginal fluid. Myself or partner do not wish to have sex yet, however we wished to try things in the bedroom. I was laying in the missionary position and he climbed on top of me with his underpants on. He then began to put his erect penis in my vagina slightly about 2 to 3cm I assume, with his underpants still on. He did not ejaculate at all. He and I are sure of this. However, once I told him to stop after about 10 seconds of in and out motions, we then went into the bathroom together to wash our hands and I saw a wet patch on the outer of his underpants, I know this was from my vaginal fluids however when I felt his penis I think he may have had some 'pre-cum' or 'pre-ejaculatory' fluid on the tip of his penis. I asked him did he notice it in the bedroom, or did it just come out when we were in the bathroom. He wasn't 100% sure. So now it brings me to the predicament, of pregnancy. Could I be pregnant? If for some case some 'pre-cum' fluid has been released could it have seeped through his underwear mixed with mine and entered my vagina up to my uterus, thus resulting in pregnancy? Or can't the sperm find it's way through underwear, keeping in mind mine was off?
It has been 8 days since this event has happened. I have an irregular period still, I think. My next period is due on the twelfth day after this event. So in 4 days after this post. I really hope I am not pregnant and I know for any reason in the future if we were to do ANYTHING like this with each other again we would put protection on or take some precaution even though we do not wish to have sexual intercourse. I just really need some more information on these matters. Thank you so much for your assistance to all of us women and men and I hope to hear from you soon. :) as you can probably tell, I am a bit of a worry wart but I am stressing at the moment and I know I shouldn't or else my period will come even later. But I just need some clarification, to know what I will have to do or know for the future. Thankyou Christine and knowledgeable commenters.

If your boyfriend was wearing a condom, and he only inserted the tip of his penis into your vagina (I assume this means no further penetration, sex or ejaculation?), then there would be no chance of pregnancy from what you describe. This also assumes that there was no other genital-to-genital touching without a condom.
