Hi, I'm 23 years old lady and I'm still a virgin. I have a bf and we've been together for more than 4 years. We never had 'real' penetration or sexual intercourse (saving it for the marriage). But today we made out and he only put his tip into me (only like half an inch to an inch) but did not cum in me. I am just a little concerned and went online to search for answers, and some people even mentioned that with what i've done, i'm actually not a virgin anymore! but no pain no blood flow happened.

Anyway, my question is, will i get pregnant this way? isit really true that if sperm was only near the vagina, i will get pregnant?

only supportive and real answers please.. i know i shud've used contraception, but it was our first time, and we didn't really planned for it to happen.

thanks..

This is not a reply to frank, sorry.
I have to ask how likely will a girl get pregnant with 'pre-cum' because reading through many sites they make it seem like she WILL get pregnant. Well I never knew I precum on erection but me and my gf have been having unprotected sex ever since (except our first time) and we have been for two years going on three and yet she hasn't become pregnant... Though I want to also ask if I only cum with only the tip in then she uses the restroom would that wash the sperms out?

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your comment and question. When a penis is erect, there commonly will be some "precum" present. Anytime you have sex and don't use any kind of protection (birth control pills, condoms, spermicide, withdrawal, etc.) there is a risk of pregnancy.

In any given month, a woman of normal child-bearing age (meaning she gets her period every month), has roughly a 20% chance of getting pregnant with regular sexual intercourse. The different forms of birth control provide protection at different levels. For instance, the withdrawal method (removing your penis from her vagina before you ejaculate), is roughly 70% effective at preventing pregnancy when done correctly. Birth control pills and condoms are much more effective, at a 98-99% effective rate when used correctly.

Beyond that information, we cannot give you odds at how likely she will get pregnant from pre-cum or any sexual activity, especially since we are not doctors, nor do we know the reproductive health of either of you. Having her use the bathroom after intercourse is not a reliable form of birth control.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your question. Yes, it would be too soon to be symptoms of pregnancy--could be nerves or something she ate. However, the sexual activity you guys did does put her at some risk for becoming pregnant. Did you not use any birth control? If she misses her next period, she can take a pregnancy test (some say to wait a week after a missed period, then the results will be more accurate). It may not be a bad idea for her to get in touch with a doctor to get checked out and get on birth control or learn more about it if you guys are planning on continuing to be sexually active. You could even pick up some condoms for that next sexual encounter. It's a very exciting time for you guys--you can keep it fun and exciting by taking a few steps to make it safe for both of you. Let us know if you need further direction about that.
Good luck!

Hi frank,
Did your girlfriend go to a doctor to get birth control pills, that is the only place she should be getting them from. Also, it generally takes 10-14 days to know if the sex you've had has caused a pregnancy. So if a pregnancy test is taken before 10-14 days or more has passed, the results may not be accurate. The best bet, is to use birth control. For more information, please review this article: Answers for Women: Am I Pregnant After Unprotected Sex?

Hello, I am 24 years old female and a virgin. I have a question.

Me and my boyfriend are dating for a long time, but we never went for an intercourse ever because of me being scared of the pain I'll be going through during the intercourse, as I was always been told it's painful. My boyfriend was quite aware that I am scared of it and he always used to make me feel better. Yesterday, we just experienced it without planning. But the situation is quite different here, he put his penis on my vagina and tried to push it, me being a virgin, it was hurting me alot and everytime either I screamed or pushed him back. Then he used to pause for a few minutes, pat me on my back and talk to me for sometime. Then again we tried, it hurted me again, maybe because of the hymen coming on it's way. On the 3rd try, I screamed and actually cried then he stopped. I ejaculated him with my hand later. After an hour or so, I experienced a severe backache and feel I cant walk properly. I told him this, he said to examine it, maybe the hymen must have damaged probably. He further added, then he successfully was able to put the tip of his penis an inch or half inside my vagina and actually felt it, on the otherhand, I do not remember it quite clearly because I was in pain and nothing was inside my head except being nervous and pain I am going through. I asked him if he is sure about that or not, he said he is. I later examined with a mirror, I couldn't see any hymen around my vagina. This is sure that I am not a virgin anymore, but my question is, my boyfriend had pre-ejaculation on his on the tip of his penis when he actually inserted his tip on my vagina, is there a possibility of me being pregnant? plus, is backache normal after the breakage of hymen of putting a a tip of his penis inside my vagina?

Hi,
A home pregnancy test would not be reliable until you have missed your period, and it has been at least 2 weeks since unprotected sex.

I would not trust a boyfriend that does not know if he ejaculated or not inside of you...that is not telling the truth. A man knows when he ejaculates. I wonder if he means that he is not sure if he ejaculated near/on your vagina (instead of only inside?).

He should be worried that you might be pregnant; anytime you have unprotected sex, there is a chance of pregnancy. However, it sounds like you DO want to be pregnant, and he is scared that you could be? Have you two talked about these differences? Is he ready to be a father, as you are ready to be a mother? How old are both of you? Is he financially stable, since you said you do not have employment?

Birth control pills are safe to take, but I'm not sure if you are using them...you said you had unprotected sex? You mean sex without a condom, but were you taking birth control pills at the time every day? If you are having protected sex (protected from pregnancy by using birth control pills), then your chance of pregnancy is less than 1%.

I am confused: you want to be pregnant, but you are taking the pill? Your boyfriend does not want you to be pregnant, and he does not know if he ejaculated in you or not? You both sound very young, not educated about sex (and should perhaps wait on having sex) or not quite telling the entire story???

Hello Alison and knowledgeable commenters on this subject,
As seen from your previous comments you seem very knowledgeable in this area of subject. I have a few question to ask you, I think I know the answers but I would like to be sure please.
I had just ended my menstrual cycle and my boyfriend came over the next day. We started to become quite sexually excited and I began to release lots of vaginal fluid. Naturally I understand my body was preparing for sexual intercourse. I removed my underwear and he began to touch my vagina with his hand, which produced A LOT more of my vaginal fluid. Myself or partner do not wish to have sex yet, however we wished to try things in the bedroom. I was laying in the missionary position and he climbed on top of me with his underpants on. He then began to put his erect penis in my vagina slightly about 2 to 3cm I assume, with his underpants still on. He did not ejaculate at all. He and I are sure of this. However, once I told him to stop after about 10 seconds of in and out motions, we then went into the bathroom together to wash our hands and I saw a wet patch on the outer of his underpants, I know this was from my vaginal fluids however when I felt his penis I think he may have had some 'pre-cum' or 'pre-ejaculatory' fluid on the tip of his penis. I asked him did he notice it in the bedroom, or did it just come out when we were in the bathroom. He wasn't 100% sure. So now it brings me to the predicament, of pregnancy. Could I be pregnant? If for some case some 'pre-cum' fluid has been released could it have seeped through his underwear mixed with mine and entered my vagina up to my uterus, thus resulting in pregnancy? Or can't the sperm find it's way through underwear, keeping in mind mine was off?
It has been 8 days since this event has happened. I have an irregular period still, I think. My next period is due on the twelfth day after this event. So in 4 days after this post. I really hope I am not pregnant and I know for any reason in the future if we were to do ANYTHING like this with each other again we would put protection on or take some precaution even though we do not wish to have sexual intercourse. I just really need some more information on these matters. Thank you so much for your assistance to all of us women and men and I hope to hear from you soon. :) as you can probably tell, I am a bit of a worry wart but I am stressing at the moment and I know I shouldn't or else my period will come even later. But I just need some clarification, to know what I will have to do or know for the future. Thank you Alison and knowledgeable commenters.
