I think that for those who are concerned about whether to go the cryo abalation route, we all have to remember that a lot of times, as is human tendency, bloggers are people who have had bad experiences. Probably many for whom it was smooth sailing wouldn't even think to go on line and look for a support group or to chronicle their experience. (My doctor said as much to me when I commented at my two-week post check up that I had read so much negative stuff on the blogs that I almost didn't go through with it, and was happy that so far things have been fine.) This is my third post since my procedure on 9/30/09. I would say that the "gushing" only occured for a week (where I could literally feel spurting liquid throughout the day), but it has been easily handled by changing pads throughout the day. After that time, for a few days I felt it maybe once or twice a day, then pretty much nothing. For the last two days I've been spotting a bit, which always happens a few days before my period actually hits, and I'm due for that first post-surgical period in the next week or so, so I'm assuming the spotting is period-related. We'll see how that goes. I guess for me worst case scenario would be the procedure not working, but I'm staying optimistic. The procedure itself and the aftermath have been fine. Don't let the bad experiences sway you; there are probably just as many people out there who haven't had a problem with the procedure or its aftermath. (And, statistics on the procedure tell us that it is successful in something like 86% of the cases, either in eliminating periods entirely or in their becoming more "normal." )
