I had cryoablation yesterday, and hope that my experience will help anyone out there who is hesitating about the procedure. I was nervous anyway, but even moreso when it turned out, as luck would have it, that surgery day was also my heavy bleeding day. (My doctor explained that the only issue with performing the procedure durng menses is that it sometimes exacerbates the period symptoms.) I went ahead with the procedure, and it was smooth sailing. (30 minutes prior to the procedure I was given 10 mg. of Valium, a 60 mg. injection of Torodol (non-steroid anti-inflammatory), and 25 mg. of Phenergen for nausea.) The only real discomfort was when she had to "vacuum" me out (necessary only if you go in with your period.) I had very mild cramping after and took Darvaset only because I was scared the pain would worsen, but I was fine. Went home and slept from 1:30 to 8:30, then back to sleep for the nite at 10:30 and went to work today. I've had no pain at all; just the annoying leaking that everyone has talked about. Now I just hope I'm one of the lucky ones for whom the procedure works!
