For the past week, I've had the sensation of palpitations. I say it that way because I'm not sure what I've been feeling. It hits suddenly, sometimes for just a few minutes, sometimes repeatedly over the course of a day. My chest feels hollow and like my heart is pounding, it's hard to breathe and I feel lightheaded.
My doctor ran an EKG this morning, hoping to catch me during one of these spells. Of course I didn't have one until some time afterwards! So, now I have to get blood work done to see if any anomalies can be detected, and get some sort of heart monitoring device from the hospital to get a 24-hour reading.
At the same time, I've been so incredibly fatigued, lately, and worried that a lupus attack may be eminent. Because I'm in off-season training, I'm still running on a schedule; so, the exercise should be energizing; and I run with a heart rate monitor to check my exertion levels.
This is all very weird. I've suffered chronic fatigue before, but this mysterious sensation is baffling and frustrating.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
