Dr. Shalizeh Shokooh: If the patient is sent to me because they have risk factors and we go through them and weigh whether they do have heart disease -- if they do have heart disease, I want to see them on a regular basis -- maybe every three to six months depending on how bad the disease is, and if they don’t have anything and their risk factors are under control, I think the patient can follow up with their primary doctors. If something comes up they can see their cardiologists again.
