Would you admit to having botox?

I have a friend who's had a facelift and also gets regular botox injections. But she's horrified at the thought of other people knowing. She'd never admit to people that she's had plastic surgery and botox. In fact once I was having lunch with her and her plastic surgeon happened to walk into the restaurant. She pretended that she didn't know him!

What do you all think about this? Shouldn't we be open about the work we've had done?

Why Not?

If someone asked me if I had Botox, I would likely admit to it.

I don't think women need anything else to be embarrassed about or something else to hide. We tend to be secretive about our age and weight. Emotionally, sometimes we pretend that everything is fine when it's not.

And let's be honest, sometimes those changes in our appearance are just noticeable. If someone is asking, they're probably asking because they're interested in the procedure themselves and not looking to embarrass anyone. Guess some women are worried they might be considered vain. But really, who isn't? Who doesn't want to look younger? Not many.

With that said, I have to admit I love women like Jamie Lee Curtis who let their hair go gray and encourage women to focus on their minds and emotions rather than their looks. I think it's encouraging to be told that it's OK to be you -- Botox or not.

I will never admit what I've had done!

Kristin,

I love this subject. Most want to pretend that they aren't aging or their skin isn't as perfect as it was when they were 30.

I've known people whose lives were changed drastically for getting changes that made their appearance more tolerable.

Should they admit it? If they want to I guess. Should they have to admit it? No.

You look great in your photo. HINT, HINT...Do you have something to confess?

Do tell. WINK

Botox badge?

I think women tend to hold their cosmetic procedures like some sort of badge of pride for taking on the "ugly" beast of aging.

My mother has great genes, that I hope I've inherited. So far, I am not liking what I see in the mirror. Then again, people don't think I'm as old as I am...as long as I keep coloring over the gray, haha!

But Botox - not for me. I'm not fond of needles, yikes!
