Girls that Throw Away Their Body
By FateGille

I am growing more and more frustrated at girls of all ages who don't respect their body and throw themselves at men to feel desired and better about themselves. There are so many more ways to boost your self-esteem and confidence than opening yourself up to such scary and undesirable things like VD and pregnancy. I know some girls who don't think kissing a guy and sleeping with him are any different. There are huge differences! The consequences and risks are dramatically different- not alone the emotional repercussions.

Re: Girls Who Throw Away Their Bodies

hi! I read your blog, and wanted to know more! Sexuality is such a controversial topic, and I'm happy to have a safe place to talk about it. Are you referring to a certain age group of girls, who are/are not in committed relationships? "Throwing away their bodies" sounded extreme to me, and I got the image of a 6 year old girl wearing the (unfortunately) popular clothes that "sexualize" her in age-inappropriate ways. However, it sounds like you are referring to girls (assuming under age 18) who are having sex with multiple partners just for the fun of it, or because they have low self-esteem, or because they think they're in love? I would agree that many young women and men, girls and boys do not fully understand the consequences of sexual intercourse (both physically and emotionally), due to so many factors: sexuality being a taboo topic to talk about in any healthy and meaningful way; sexuality is displayed about in movies and often "glamorized" and portrayed in unrealistic manners (and most often not shown as "safer sex" with condom use). You mentioned "scary and undesirable" things such as STD/STI (sexually transmitted infections is newest term) and pregnancy. These can be (mostly) prevented with condom use, but you sound like you are advocating for abstinence or more awareness or more education...or something else? Inquiring minds want to know! What are your thoughts? And, I have to ask...are boys "throwing away their bodies" as well, or do you see this as primarily a female issue? Thanks for the great discussion!
