A rude Dermatologist

I went to a dermatologist because of the painful burning itching pimples on my scalp and excessive hair loss. The dermatologist told me my hair was not falling out and if it did it was because of my age (74). She also told me she did not know what the pimples were nor did she know what caused them. She simply dismissed me with a prescreption that cost me $92.00 my co-pay. I've used this lotion for six weeks and my scalp is no better. Have you ever heard of this condition? If you have PLEASE tell me how to rid myself of this condition. I scratch my scalp constantly. It feels like I have poison ivy. I takes every bit of control to stop scratching. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Lucia

What you may have is...

I'm not a dermatologist or a doctor but what you may have is a yeast infection on your scalp. That may sound really odd but I had one, years ago, that caused dozens of itchy pimples on my forehead (the forehead is an extension of the scalp) and I was given medication (a 10 days dosage of pills) and it cleared it up perfectly and I have never had it again. I was scratching my forehead a lot and made the mistake of thinking it was acne. Not so. I had put up with an awful looking forehead for nearly 2 years before I went to see a dermatologist. He diagnosed it straight away as a yeast condition and he was right. While you may have something totally different, I would suggest this as a possibility to your dermatologist.

Good luck, there is nothing worse than being patronized and being made to feel like you are making things up or exaggerating.

Fire that dermatologist

and find another. Not all doctors are so rude and dismissive. I hope you find out what is causing your condition and get relief for it.
