Vestibulitis Developed During Menopause

I believe my vestibulitis occurred with the drying out of my vestibule area during menopause. I had some cracking of the skin and a general feeling of it being chapped in the vestibule area. This led to burning and itching and steriod creams and 7 doctors that just said it was part of menopause. By the time it was correctly diagnosed, my nerve endings in the 5,6, and 7 spot were charged up with pain. I have been doctoring successfully for three years with only one or two major flare ups.

Robertis, when you say doctoring, can you share more about what this entails? How did you advocate for yourself to finally get the correct care?
Sad but true.....I dumped my doctors and searched on line with my symptoms. I found a great doctor in Philly that did the right exam with q-tips and all to show me what I had. I did go back to my internist and told her what I had and she was very interested and has since sent about a dozen or more of her patients to my Doctor. I got a new gyno that recognizes and treats it also.
