My skin is so dry after my hysterectomy. I didn't know what to do. Has anyone found any products that have worked well for you? The doctor never told me this was going to happen to me.

I had a partial Hysterectomy done on Feb. 12th of this year. I had to have a c-section because I had had two previously. I still am in pain, and it's May 2nd. I told my Dr. each time I went in for my post-op check ups that it hurt to go to the bathroom, to exercise, lay certain ways and sit up straight. "He" said it was normal... how would "he" really know?

Dr. Caroline Pukall, explains who gets vulvodynia and if women who have had a hysterectomy are more likely to experience vulvar pain?

A Canberra woman suffered severe psychological distress from being thrust into early menopause at 44, the result of what she claims was a botched hysterectomy five years ago, a court heard yesterday.
Dragica Lubjic, now 49, launched a civil claim for assault and negligence against obstetrician and gynaecologist Sydney Robert Armellin in the ACT Supreme Court for wrongfully performing a full hysterectomy when she had asked for only her uterus to be removed.

To better understand the changes in your body after hysterectomy, watch the video “Female Anatomy” at the following website: http://hersfoundation.org/anatomy/index.....
If you can’t view the video online, click on the links to the left of the viewing screen to read the text and view the anatomical drawings.
Empower yourself with information that is every woman's right to know.

Thankfully, my days of hot flashes and evenings of night sweats are a thing of the past.
For me, what finally worked was to get on the correct medications. Once my hormones were back in balance, these unpleasant (to put it mildly!) symptoms went away.

Have you ever heard the expression “men sweat, but women glow?”
Obviously, whoever coined that phrase wasn’t a woman dealing with menopause and night sweats.
Looking back, my night sweats were clearly part of my going through perimenopause in my early 40s. But at the time, neither my physician nor I were making that connection. He believed that it was a side effect of the medications I was taking for irritable bowel syndrome, also known as IBS.

Written in Q&A Format, A Gynecologist's Second Opinion answers all the questions that patients actually have but that most doctors often don't have the time or the patience to answer. It addresses women's concerns while providing the facts needed to get appropriate care. The book was written with the idea that a woman should be a partner with her doctor in her health care, and the more information and understanding she had, the better off she would be.

It started with the occasional sneeze – urine just came out of me. I had no control. It also happened when I laughed or coughed. At first I wasn’t too concerned about it and thought it would gradually get better. But after time it got worse instead of better. My doctor said that when my estrogen level got higher, it might get better and go away. But even tweaking my estrogen replacement therapy has had no effect. The other theory was that this issue could be a result of my hysterectomy.

(This is me, right after I had a complete hysterectomy. It's been several years, but this time in my life is indelibly imprinted in my mind....)
On the outside it appears as if I have everything a woman could possibly want. I'm living a fairy tale life with a wonderful husband, extraordinary daughter, and a beautiful home. But on the inside I am crumbling.
Disintegrating. And slowly. I'm trapped in a body that I no longer know, as if my mind and heart have been plucked from my old, familiar body and thrust into a new one that is not only foreign, it is falling apart.
