Dr. Jay Harness: Stage 3 breast cancers than is typically the larger tumors. Usually, 5 cm in size or greater. An exception to that is that if there are large number of lymph nodes that have involved by metastatic cancer, a patient could be classified as stage 3 breast cancer and with stage 3 there is no question the patients all receive chemotherapy and then many of them also receive radiation therapy in addition to whatever the appropriate surgical treatment is.
