It all started with the Personal Healthcare Journal for Seniors.
My mother-in-law sees five different healthcare providers and was having trouble remembering who said what. After much research I created a tool to help her record and track her medical information. Check it out at www.mycarenecessities.com
The book has been out for just six weeks and the response has been amazing - not so much from the seniors but from the baby-boomer generation.

What are the chances? Apparently our family is a bit of an anomoly.
It all started when I rushed my 19 year old daughter to emergency one morning. I was on my way to work when I got a call on my cell phone. My daughter was very distressed, in a huge amount of pain and had rectal bleeding - could I take her to the hospital? I turned my car around - raced home and was shocked to see the pain she was in.

I'm sorry to tell you, but your daughter has interstitial cystitis. Inter what? By the time we could actually say the two words together - we had discovered that we were in for a loooong haul.
Generally considered an older lady's disease - my 19 year old daughter had won the lottery without even buying a ticket. How do you get Interstitial Cystitis (IC) and why do you get it? Questions we posed to our general practitioner and to the urologist we were referred to.

The other day my mother-in-law phoned. She sounded distressed and needed someone to take her to the doctors. Her knee was badly swollen - and she could barely walk. She had somehow injured it - she wasn't quite sure how.
I work from home so I have the flexibility to put work on hold and take her in. We went to an urgent care clinic that specializes in bones and muscles.
