IBS Cure

Several years ago I was diagnosed by a doctor to have IBS and he prescribed tranquilizers for a cure? Said it had to be my nerves. I objected to his theory. I was retired and quite happy; no stress?
Since I don't like to take medicines, I researched the causes of IBS and found out through various natural medicine articles and books that a common cause is the lack of an amino acid in our system as we age. "L-Glutamine". You can obtain it at health stores (I get mine at Sprouts Food Store). What you need to take is 500 MG before each meal. This will help your body to properly digest food and relieve you of the gas, constipation, etc. that IBS causes. This is a 100 percent vegetarian capsule.

I have not had any problems for the last 7 years, even after trying to reduce my need for the pills. Started with the 3 a day, then went to 2, and now I'm down to only one at my evening meal. No side affects, just freedom from stomach problems.

Many women suffer needlessly with this problem. So I hope this remedy works for them.
Good luck.

Overcoming IBS

I was prescribed a medication as well to calm down the bowel. One of the drugs I was taking was Diazepam. They would prescribe a 2 mg pill. Hyoscyamine was sublingual and when I felt the onset of IBS, it would calm down the bowel.

What worked for me was taking magnesium. I take 400 mg a day. Originally, I started off 400 mg in the a.m. and 400 mg at night but switched to taking it just once a day. It regulated me so quickly -- you do not know ...

Dr. Elizabeth Vliet recommended Twin Lab's magnesium. She's found that brand worked the best for women. I would not recommend it for men. Men's systems are different and 400 mg of magnesium will send them over the edge.

Whatever works for Tulip is great. It's another option for women to know. Thanks for sharing.

IBS Solution that's worked for me...

Tulip,

Here's what I've done.

Every day I take Spectrum's Flax Fiber and since then the only time I have a problem is when I forget to take it.
Here's a link to it:

It's a simple solution to a horrible problem.

Good luck, when you do find your solution, please share it with us.
