Over 10 years ago I began experiencing frequent hot flashes during work and even more frequent night sweats. I would sleep about 30 minutes before the next one would begin and it felt like my bedding was on fire. I was pretty much opposed to prescription drug based hrt from all of my reading and prefer to stay with natural healing remedies unless I have absolutely no other choice. My doctors weren't schooled in anything except prescription drugs and more than once I walked out of their offices feeling like they weren't listening to me. They had their agenda and didn't care to explore or learn anything new. My sister-in-law told me about a natural bio-identical progesterone cream. I was skeptical but decided it was worth a try. I was one of the lucky ones considering how bad my symptoms were. The very first time I used it was the first night in a long time that I didn't wake up even once with a night sweat. I went all day without a hot flash too. For me it was a miracle in a jar. I have done some reading and have learned that there are some ingredients that you should try to avoid in the cream that you select.
For the past year I have not used the cream but I will admit that occasionally I do get a mild hot flash or wake up with a mild night sweat. I can live with the occasional discomfort and I am glad to be past this part of menopause.
Menopause mania and alternative solutions
It's great to hear that you found an alternate solution to your menopause mania. I've been muddling through without meds or anything else. A nice martini helps, sometimes, LOL!
How long did you use the cream?
What are some of the ingredients you found to avoid?

a helpful remedy to menopause symptoms-Especially the Hot Flash
Hi,
I just read your post on Menopause Mania. I have a tasty beverage for women suffering from these untimely symptoms. go to my website at www.vickisflashpops.com. The beverage contains an herbal menopause formula with Black cohosh and Chaste Berry. My most recent testimony is a new client started less than a month ago, I spoke with her on Sunday and she had not had a Night Sweat in 10 Days. YEA!
I would love to share other suggestions, just call me Toll Free at 1-866-780-HOTFLASH (4683).
sincerely,

Ingredients to stay away from.
Sorry I haven't been back to the site till now. According to Dr. Lark in her April '05' Special Addendum to her newsletter she states and I quote "Parabens, These synthetic preservatives include 4 classes--methyl,propyl,butyl and ethyl. While they have been shown to inhibit microbial growth, they are used to extend the shelf life of a product, not to protect you from bacteria. Many different sources list parabens as "highly toxic" due to the number of alergic reactions and skin rashes that have been attributed to the chemicals. More recently, and more disturbing, is the suggestion that parabens are xenoestrogens, meaning they have an estrogenic affect on your body. Xenoestrogens have been associated with increased risk of breast cancer and low sperm count in men, among other things."
