We all know walking is great exercise. It helps the heart and lungs, it builds strong muscle and it's good for our bones!
It's also a good social activity. We can walk with friends, catch up with our lives and if you are like me, walking can lead in just the opposite direction. It can be a time to be alone, with no-one talking, no little fingers tugging at me and no-one asking me what's for dinner! I can smell the air, listen to the geese and feel the breeze. Just me and me.
I can also feel my waist line getter smaller and my legs becoming leaner. And who doesn't want that benefit?

I have a friend who just emailed me and is suffering from IBS. I asked her the following questions...
-is it worse around your period
-have you been diagnosed with endometriosis
-do you suffer from diarrhea and or constipation or both
-do you have thyroid issues
-ever had a hysterctomy
She's asked me what the drug was that I took for spasming of the colon?
I will reply, once she answers my questions.
Best in health,
Michelle

According to Robert Shmerling, M.D., Harvard Health Publications, there is a fine line between what can be a cancerous cell and a benign cell. In his article, Cancer's Fine Line, Dr. Shmerling states that even trained pathologists can have trouble determining whether or not the abnormality is cancerous.

I was refered to this site by several friends. I am so happy it exists. I have been ill for almost a year with what started as flu like symptoms. These progressed to include extreme fatigue, numbness and tingling in hands and feet, rapid weight loss, pain in throat and ear,(only on right side) difficulty swallowing, foggy brain, and headaches. My doctor ran all kinds of tests and refered me to all kinds of specialists. No positive test results for any of the folowwing; lupus, lyme disease and west nile disease. An Endoscopy confirmed GERD and I am being treated with Protonix.

I'm 45 yr old female, 160 lbs, 5'1. Trying to loose weight and have chronic fatigue.
I started walking and I notice 20 mins in to my walk, I get chest pain on the upper right side of my chest. The decollete area, in between my collarbone and the beginning of my breast. The pain is sharp heavy but does not spread. It starts gradually but goes away if I rest. Is this a sign of a Heart Attack or Angina?

I was bit by a Brown Recluse spider in Nov of 2007,shortly after started feeling achy and weak. The weakness continued but had no insurance to go to a Dr. until April 15th 2008. Dr. ordered blood work with revealed elevated liver enzymes. More blood work and a ultra sound show no Hepatitis or Hiv. Liver enzymes are 100 pts lower but still high and muscle soreness and weakness is getting worse. I can no longer walk up stairs or have any strengh in my arms or legs, have Atrophy in upper arms.Went to the Dr.(gastrologist) on 6/11/08 she ordered more blood work to test for muscle diseases.

I am a very healthy 67 year old women today. Prior to November 2007, I was on no medications and was flying along feeling wonderful.I had somewhat high chlorestrol...230 but the good was very high. My general physician said it was not necessary to take a statin. In February 2007, I did a treadmill exercise test and passed with flying colors. All part of my annual physical with above physician.

I need a good family doctor who will recognize a condition or at least refer me to the proper person to see. I have many different immunity problems and I need a doctor who knows something about this. My doctor referred me to a plastic surgeon and told me I have dry skin. Please help.
