TUESDAY, May 13 (HealthDay News) -- The quality of care at hospitals that treat poor and underserved patients, often called safety-net hospitals, is lagging well behind hospitals that do not serve these patients, a new study finds.

FRIDAY, April 25 (HealthDay News) -- One in four Americans -- about 12 million people -- who don't have health coverage are eligible for Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) but aren't enrolled, a new report shows.

Younger women, those with lower educational attainment and women who received Medicaid benefits were more likely to report postpartum depression, according to the CDC.

Women from 17 states were surveyed in 2004 and 2005. The report indicates that women in abusive relationships and those who used tobacco had higher rates of postpartum depression as well.

TUESDAY, Feb. 26 (HealthDay News) -- Spending on health care in the United States could double by 2017, reaching $4.3 trillion and accounting for 19.5 percent of the nation's gross domestic product, a new government report shows.
