Call them a guilty pleasure (or educational and fun) but I’m a big fan of (legitimate) online health quizzes, so when I learned about the Vitality Compass on bluezones.com that borrows from what other cultures can teach us about health, I was all over it.
The premise of the blue zone concept is that there are certain ‘zones’ or regions of the world where people live long and well.

A federal appeals judge on Wednesday delayed the enforcement of new city rules requiring calorie counts to be posted alongside prices in some restaurants.
The delay ordered by Judge Robert A. Katzmann is only temporary, until Tuesday, when he said a three-member panel of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals would hear oral arguments on continuing the delay. The regulations had been scheduled to go into effect on Saturday.
The delay was sought by the New York State Restaurant Association, which lost its challenge of the new rules in United State District Court in Manhattan last week.

Since my mid-forties, I've been frustrated by weight creep, the inevitable midlife "spread." Even though I'm fairly active and try to eat healthfully, the scale is not being very friendly.
I've been thinking about going on some sort of "managed" diet program, like Jennie Craig or Nutrisystem; but, concerned that they're more marketing gimmicks than anything else. What's so special about their packaged foods? Is it more just the convenience of having things figured out for you? Has anyone tried such programs and gotten results?
Inquiring mind wants to know. :)
