A 22 year old woman is currently legally auctioning off her virginity and the bid is up to one million dollars. She wants to pay for graduate school and further women's studies and believes this to also be a social commentary - based on people's reactions to her decision.
Losing one's virginity is usually unforgettable. Not always in a good way, mind you - it can be painful, lonely, quick, boring and awkward. Adding to the fact that this man will be a perfect stranger may not help.
She is undertaking medical exams to prove her virginity and will go through a legal Nevada brothel.

I just read Dr. Gwenn's post regarding Teenage Pregnancy and Sex Ed, and have a question: Do any of you have teenagers in high school, and if so, what is actually being taught in class regarding human sexuality?

THURSDAY, Aug. 21 (HealthDay News) -- One reason why abstinence-only programs don't do much to prevent teen sexual activity is because abstinence can mean different things to teens than it does to adults, according to a University of Washington study.
Teens' attitudes and intentions about sex are more powerful than their attitudes and intentions about being abstinent, the researchers found.

Okay, sorry to jump on the bandwagon here, but I am so curious!
I went to the movies today with my mom (it is her birthday!), and there was the longest line I had ever seen for the Sex and the City movie! The audience was primarily young women.
I have seen the TV shows, and do find them entertaining, sometimes even thought-provoking. I became disappointed when the focus narrowed to what they are wearing and what club they are getting into, rather than the relationships themselves (but, I "get" that as part of the show).
