Do you keep a food diary?

USA Today article said that people who are on diets and write down everything they eat lose TWICE as much weight than those who don't keep a "food diary". This is according to a new research study (they said it is the "largest weight-loss study ever conducted").

I've never kept a food diary...have you? How do I even start, and keep up with it (I don't want to become overly concerned or obsessed with what I'm eating, either).

Butter Spreads Actively Remove Cholesterol?

My parents use a butter spread that claims to "actively remove cholesterol". I've noticed several types of butter/oil spreads at the grocery store, meant to replace butter or margarine, and are touted as "healthy alternatives".

However, one brand says that it is "clinically proven to actively remove cholesterol". Is this true, and to what degree? Is this butter spread actually healthy (use some every day) or is it just a healthy alternative (no trans-fat like butter).
