The National Academy of Sciences recently published a report showing that people who spend time or money helping others are happier and less likely to be depressed. For the study, brain activity of the participants was monitored by MRI scans as they made certain decisions.
Read more about this feel good research and learn why focusing on the needs of others causes us to shift our way of thinking - and feeling.

In a study released today, older men are happier than older women. The reason? Women are less likely to achieve their life goals or they achieve them earlier -- like marriage, a home, a family. (Source: lifescience.com) Here are some of the milestones of the study:
* 41: Age at which men's financial satisfaction exceeds women's financial satisfaction.
* 48: Age at which men's overall happiness exceeds women's overall happiness.

I am curious: what are the real health benefits of listening to music? I know some songs make me feel happy; others are frustrating. Is there some science behind music and health?
Do you use music to help yourself heal, either physically or mentally? If so, I'd love to hear how!
And...any specific type of music that is "healthier" than others, or does it just depend on the individual?

My favorite bumper sticker:
Don't Believe Everything You Think
We all know these "tips" below, but how many of us still fall into the trap of negative thoughts, which inevitably become negative feelings, mood and behavior?! If we don't "believe everything we think", and reframe our negative thoughts, we may be able to prevent some negative moods, feelings...and even how we react to them!

Let me remember I am one with God.
i love this lesson because I love reminding myself to be remember God.
All day long it’s a constant dedication TO REMEMBER the truth, and to love, give and forgive. To remember I am one with God and that I, along with you, are the light of the world.
