Sneaking Veggies into Recipes: Good Idea or Start of Unhealthy Eating Habits?

Some of my "mom friends" have been talking about making recipes from one of two books (I'm sure there are more out there): The Sneaky Chef and Deceptively Delicious. The premise of these books is to get your picky eater to eat more veggies, by adding them (read: sneak them or deceptively and inconspicuously add them) unknowingly into recipes that your kids eat.

My question: is this the start of kids NOT eating vegetables throughout their life (since they are hidden in the recipe), or is it just a helpful tool to get them through their "picky" phase?

I never enjoyed my history classes, as they were filled with memorizing names (mostly men's), obscure dates and battle fields. However, I do remember learning about the bubonic plague and cholera in my public health classes (which was interesting to me), and these are only two of the twelve diseases that are discussed in the book, "Twelve Diseases That Changed Our World" (by Irwin Sherman).

The reason for writing my memoir A Dozen Invisible Pieces and Other Confessions of Motherhood

I am the mother of three young children. Motherhood hasn't exactly come easily to me. Some of this may have to do with my personality, but most of it has to do with being extremely under supported by the community and culture in which I live.
