I just wanted to let others know that July is National Hemochromatosis Awareness Month, and if anyone has experience with this disorder, it would be helpful to hear!

We often talk about deficiencies in our diet, but hemochromatosis is an inherited disorder in which people absorb extra iron from their diet, and there is no efficient way for the body to excrete iron. Eventually, the excess builds up in the liver, heart, pancreas, pituitary and joints, and can cause organ failure over time.

The Home Safety Council sponsors the Home Safety Awareness Month every June, and honestly, this was the first time it "caught my eye" because I never gave much thought about "home safety" until having a baby. Now, it's all I think about!
