Traditional China has consumed medical herbs for centuries to promote the well being of one’s body, particularly green tea.

A worldwide traveler, green tea has become popularized in America and research suggests the herb may prevent or relieve illness.

Derived from the Camellia sinesis plant, green tea is made from the unfermented leaves and therefore have the highest antioxidant content and lowest caffeine content of all teas available.

Packed with antioxidants called polyphenols, it is this product that may have healing powers.

THURSDAY, June 26 (HealthDay News) -- Older adults with type 2 diabetes are apt to have memory problems after eating a meal loaded with fat, but a new study has found the damage can be undone if they take antioxidant vitamins along with the unhealthy food.

However, the researchers emphasize, it is better to eat healthy foods and not rely on vitamins to undo the cognitive harm.

Some more tea questions: why is caffeine in black, while green is known as healthier?

I just read a helpful post about the differences between green and white tea, and it made me realize I also have some tea questions! Here they are:

1. If black, green and white teas have the same amount of antioxidants, why is green tea known to be "healthier"? Is there something else that green tea, and perhaps white tea, has that black tea does not?
